Activities on site

Bolt pads have been stripped and bolts have been loosened and are free within the cones. Pads have been put back over the bolts to keep the pockets clean and free of debris.

Plinth for the base of the pre cast stair has been cast. Dowels have been cast in to the pad for continuity with the slab pour when it happens.

The 1st lift of blockwork forming the stair enclosure has been built. The remaining blockwork will be built after the GF slabs have been cast.

Joiners have now formed and installed internal shutters on top of the bolt pads to allow the floor slabs to be cast up to the bolt pads.

Drain pop ups and service ducts have been installed and preparation for GF slab pours. Drains have been tested and witnessed by R Tewnion.

GF Slab poured and complete.

Concrete block to stairwell 1st floor has been completed and pre cast stairs and landings installed.

Carpark has been built up in preparation for ongoing works.

The dpm at bolt pad extensions should be lapped up the side of the concrete extensions and sealed around the concrete to ensure the damp proofing is continuous around the pads. Dpm could be seen at Bolt pads

Insulation should have a minimum 500 gauge polythene or visqueen isolation layer laid between the concrete and the foil face of the insulation as per the manufacturer’s instructions (extract below and full Datasheet appended). This is to protect the foil surface from reacting with the alkaline concrete. Done and photos issued to confirm.

Upcoming Activities

Complete escape stair blockwork and cap slab.

Glulam delivery scheduled for 28th January now. May move back depending on progress, weather and temperatures. Blockwork construction to stairwell is on the critical path since the cap slab needs to go on before glulam is installed.

Progress car park works.
