The Strathdearn hopes to reopen on Monday 14th September

Exciting news!!

In line with Scottish Government guidelines (as they currently stand) we are aiming to reopen the Hall on Monday 14th September.

We have put all the necessary cleaning, hand hygiene and social distancing measures in place to ensure we comply with current Covid-19 guidelines and have achieved the Visit Scotland “Good to Go” status.

Initially we will be reopening to our regular user groups and local businesses before hopefully extending this to other events in the following weeks as Scottish Government guidelines dictate.

Inevitably there will be some new measures in place to ensure we keep everyone as safe as possible so eg we ask that face coverings be worn in communal areas of the Hall and we will be implementing a system for Test and Protect. More details of these changes will be issued in the coming weeks.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch 01808 511700 or events.manager@strathdearn.org

We can’t wait to welcome you back!

The MSC meetings will resume later this month.

1. The Birch Walk: Completion work will take place shortly on the path and a further 4 new benches will be sited in addition to the existing one (which will be replaced). The first section of the path, at the Tullochclury end, will be left as it is as the Forestry will be accessing this section in 2021 and will be laying their own foundation.
2. Moy FB page: Please ‘like’ us and join our FB page if you haven’t already done so – it is a good way to keep in touch. Feel free to post. Also if you are out and about and take photos in our lovely area, we would love to see them.
3. Moy roadside path: Some maintenance work has been done to the path and the grass borders were cut at the same time. If anyone has any thoughts about whether the grass/’wildflower’ section between the Old Manse and the Old Schoolhouse should be cut or left to grow wild, we would be glad to hear your views.

If you want to contribute, give any feedback or share your ideas please feel free to contact any of the sub-committee members at any time. The members are Marian Hendry (Chair, marian.hendry@talk21.com), Alastair Fraser (vice chair), Davie Cameron, John Clarke, Jimmy Duncan and Linda Armit.

The Strathdearn Covid19 Measures

In line with Scottish Government guidance the Strathdearn Hall is still closed but we can’t wait to welcome you back once we are given the go ahead to open. We have missed you one and all.
Meanwhile, we are working hard behind the scenes to ensure we provide a safe environment for you to return to. Additional measures to help limit the risks of coronavirus transmission in the Strathdearn include: We are currently following the procurement rules to appoint what is known as the ” Preferred Contractor status “

• Limiting the number of people in the building to ensure physical distancing can take place
• Making hand sanitiser available and encouraging hand washing
• Limiting the number of people who can use the toilets/kitchen at any given time
• Increased cleaning schedules with particular care given to touch points etc.
• Putting procedures in place if someone becomes unwell
• Implementing a system for Test and Protect

Haste ye back as soon as we are able!!
