Alternative arrangements for Flu Vaccine

Due to covid-19 restrictions, there will be no flu vaccine clinic in the hall this year. Those who usually attend the Tomatin clinic will instead have to get the vaccine at their registered medical practice. If you are house-bound, the district nurse will visit you and take care of it.

Liz Campbell and Vivian Roden intend to contact every person who attended the Tomatin clinic last year. What they are offering is for anyone who cannot get to the clinics or appointments at their surgery (poor bus time tables / risk of travelling on public transport / no car / no one available to take them etc) that they will transport them or pay for a taxi.

If you have any questions, please contact Liz (07751207235) or Vivian (01808 511355).

Tomatin Outreach Resumes

SCD is pleased to announce that Tomatin Post Office Outreach service will resume in The Strathdearn from 9.00 – 11.00am on WEDNESDAY 23RD SEPTEMBER (PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF DAY AND TIME). The service will be supplied by Newtonmore Postmaster Graeme Irvine on a temporary basis until such time as Aviemore Post Office can take over again.

Please follow the same covid19 protection rules as you would in the shop – wear a facemask, use the hand sanitiser provided and queue at a social distance.

Debbie and Ernest have left Aviemore P.O. We wish them well. It is hoped new operators will be in place by the end of the year, bringing stability to our Outreach service.

We are very grateful to Graeme for agreeing to provide the service, and to P.O. Regional Manager David Duff for arranging it.

The Strathdearn Re-Opening Postponed with a review in October

SCD had hoped to open The Strathdearn’s doors on the 14th September 2020.

The First Minister’s announcement on the 10th September changed the rules on indoor (and outdoor) gatherings:
– Scotland will remain in phase 3 of lockdown, likely to remain so “for some time to come”.
– From 14th September a new limit of six people from two households allowed to meet socially.
– Limited exceptions, including organised sports and places of worship, and children under 12 will not count towards the limit.
(Previously, people could meet in groups of up to eight from three households indoors and 15 from five households outdoors).

SCD took the decision to keep the restrictions in place in the hall and await the next review on the 1st October 2020.
