Appeal to support Community Right to Buy Hazelbank Woods

As part of the Community Action Plan, the community has instructed SCC and SCD to take forward a Community Right to Buy application for Hazel Bank Woods.
Thanks to the many of you who supported it first time round, and sorry to have to ask again but we are having to re-collect signatures to support the registration process of Community Right to Buy (CRtB) application for Hazel Bank Woods.
The ScotGov dept in charge of CRtB has been very prescriptive and will not accept our original format of signatures. They came back with lots of restrictive conditions on how we collect your information.
We’ve been trying to do it door-to-door, but this is frustratingly slow and inefficient, and won’t get us over the line in time. We are therefore adopting different tactics leading up to the DEADLINE OF JULY 3rd2022..
We are asking you to PLEASE find an opportunity to visit the shop or hall in the next week. Forms will be available to sign just inside the hall door, or on a stand outside the shop on the right-hand side of the door.
There’ll be a poster explaining what you have to do (see attached picture). The Hall is open from 9-5 Mon-Sat, and the stand outside the shop will be available till 6pm every day. Additionally, the forms in the Hall foyer will be available from 6.30-8pm on Mon, Tue, and Thu. Volunteers will regularly remove filled forms for data protection reasons.
We have a week left to get this over the line. It’s not long but we can do it with your help. This is a once in a generation opportunity. If we are able to purchase this land, and remember, this is just a first step, we can take nothing for granted, but IF WE GET IT, OUR COMMUNITY AND NOBODY ELSE WILL DECIDE THE FATE OF THIS MUCH-LOVED AREA AT THE HEART OF TOMATIN.
Thank you!
