Activities on site

The 1st lift of blockwork forming the stair enclosure has been built. Low temperatures are hampering progress on site. Compass are looking at an alternative to the concrete blocks and cap slabs above 1st floor. An amendment to warrant will be required due to proposed change in fire proofing the stairwell. Fairhurst/Makar design & Building Warrant amendment submission is ongoing.

The GF Slab has been poured and is complete. Proposals awaited from Compass as to how the GF slab issues will be rectified.

Glulam erection is complete. The main posts, tie beams and trusses have been erected and Gf & 1st floor Panel installation is complete.

Roof cassettes installation is ongoing (70% Complete) however heavy snow and winds this week have again slowed up construction and erection of the structural kit.

Diagonal bracing remains to be fitted to the columns however some temporary bracing is still in place.

The kit and glulam installation looks to be of a good quality. Fixings are at very tight centres so no concerns with regard to nailing.

Columns have been grouted into place and base course render has commenced. The Holding down straps have been installed at relevant centres and at the sides of each opening. Re inforcement mesh panels were bing installed over the HD Straps to prevent cracking in the render.

The offsite drainage is up to within a few metres of F1 but works were halted on the 3rd April due to snow. The offsite drainage should be complete by 5th April with surfacing to be arranged w/c 8th April. All the above are weather permitting. Scottish Water will be called back to site to inspect finished manholes and Compass will be arranging a cctv survey of the drain to allow formal adoption.

Carpark works have been suspended for now. Area still required for structural frame and kit laydown.
