Activities on site
The 1st lift of blockwork forming the stair enclosure has been built. Low temperatures are hampering progress on site. Compass are looking at an alternative to the concrete blocks and cap slabs above 1st floor. An amendment to warrant will be required due to proposed change in fire proofing the stairwell. Fairhurst/Makar design & Building Warrant amendment submission is ongoing.
The GF Slab has been poured and is complete. Proposals required from Compass as to how the GF slab issues will be rectified.
Glulam erection is complete with exception of roof structure. The main posts and tie beams have been erected and braced with temporary props. Gf Panel installation is complete.
Floor cassettes have been installed and 1st floor panel installation is complete.
Roof trusses have been assembled on the deck ready for lifting into position. The 1st truss was being installed at the time of the visit. Some steel pins are awaited to allow completion of truss assembly. The pins are being held at customs in Italy. Pins are therefore being manufactured locally to circumvent the delayed delivery.
Diagonal bracing remains to be fitted to the columns however the temporary bracing is still in place.
The kit and glulam installation looks to be of a good quality. Fixings are at very tight centres so no concerns with regard to nailing.
Drainage works are underway on the road off site. The 1st line of drainage from F7 – F6 is substantially complete and cutting the surfacing along the track between F6 & F5 ready for the next leg.
Carpark works have been suspended for now. Area required for sturctural frame and kit deliveries.
Upcoming Activities
Kit deliveries are ongoing with deliveries scheduled for 15th March but this has been put off till Thursday 21st. The 1st load of roof cassettes has been delivered to site. The final load of roof cassettes is due next week.
Windows are stored locally off site for installation when ready.
Plasterboard deliveries scheduled for 8th April.
Fire capping at the stair is with Makar just now for warrant amendemnt submission.
Progress car park works once structural frame and panels have been completed and the car park area has been cleared.
Electricians & plumbers are booked in provisionally for w/c 25th March for 1st fix M&E.
