For many years Strathdearn has had its own Community Council, ensuring our views are heard when it matters. Many communities of our size or bigger have no council of their own and have to accept whatever the Highland Council decide on their behalf.
Community Council elections must be held every 4 years and for a while it was touch and go whether Strathdearn could raise the minimum of 7 candidates required to prevent our council from being dissolved. Our grateful thanks must therefore go to these community-minded folks for stepping forward:
- Carlie Borthwick
- Dianne Buckle
- James Duncan
- Susan Falconer
- Mandy Ingram
- Rusty MacAskill
- Margaret Menzies
Because of you, Strathdearn will continue to fight its own corner. Thank you for volunteering your time and effort.
Thanks also to Carol James, Bridget Gibson and Roy Campbell who have already done more than their share and are stepping down after several years of much valued service.
