Background Report
Strathdearn Community Council prepared a report to support the 1st stage preparations of the Strathdearn Local Place Plan.
The Background Report provides a concise version of the information that was on display at the six Local Place Plan drop-in sessions in February 2026, so that anyone unable to attend a drop-in session could still view the details that will be used by the Community Council when preparing the Local Place Plan.
The Background Report complements the Information Leaflet delivered to every household in Strathdearn in February 2026.
Local Place Plan Area
The Strathdearn Local Place Plan area matches the Strathdearn Community Council area.
Development Plan
Strathdearn Community Council will have regard for national and local policy and strategy in the Development Plan for the Strathdearn Local Place Plan area while preparing Strathdearn’s new community-led Plan.
Local Place Plan Update
The Highland Council’s Local Place Plan Update in February 2026 also gives an update on the emerging Highland Local Development Plan.
Other Local Place Plans
There are over twenty registered Local Place Plans in the Highland Council Development Plans area.
