Proposed Plan consultation

The statutory consultation for the Proposed Strathdearn Local Place Plan was open from 4pm on 12 May 2026 until 23:59 on 12 June 2026.

Printed copies of the Proposed Plan were available to read at The Strathdearn.

There is a colour-coded ‘Guide to contents’ at the start of the document to help guide readers to key parts of our Proposed Local Place Plan.

Comments could be submitted via our free-text online comment form (now closed) or via our online feedback form (now closed) that was designed to gather information against a set of questions.

The comment and feedback forms were also available in paper copy from The Strathdearn hall.

The feedback form could also be downloaded and submitted by email.

Pop-Up at the Teen Social

7.00pm to 9.20pm on 27 March 2026

As part of our 1st stage preparations, we asked local teens for their comments.

We left comment boards at the Teen Social session on 27 March 2026 and invited local teens to comment on what they like, don’t like, want to see staying the same, and want to see changed in the Strathdearn area.

Focus Groups

Business session on 31/03/2026 and Landowner session on 01/04/2026

We held focus groups to seek the insights of Business and Landowner community members as part the Local Place Plan preparation.

Business Focus Group: 7.00pm to 9.00pm on 31/03/2026.

Landowner Focus Group: 7.00pm to 9.00pm on 01/04/2026.

The Focus Groups, held at The Strathdearn hall, were facilitated by Duncan Bryden.

Calling all Community Groups in Strathdearn

Has your group expressed needs and wishes that you would like to share with us as part of the preparation of the new, five-year plan for Strathdearn?

If the answer is ‘Yes’, then we would love to hear from you!

Send us your group’s thoughts on its current and future needs and wishes by email by Friday 3 April 2026.

Or, if you would like to share your thoughts in person, Helen Bailey would be delighted to attend your group on a pre-arranged date, either during the session or before/after via a stand located outside your session.

Surveys

From 04/02/2026 until 4pm on 13/03/2026

As part of our Local Place Plan preparation, we used a survey to invite the local community to tell us their aims and wishes for their local area.

We asked what the local community thought of the needs, opportunities, and challenges, in our Information Leaflet and Background Report.

We used three surveys to invite the Strathdearn community, businesses, and landowners to have their say, with the eligibility for participation being:

  • Residents in the Strathdearn Community Council area who are aged 12 and over could take part in our Community survey.
  • People operating a business in the Strathdearn Community Council area could take part in our Business survey.
  • Those owning land in the Strathdearn Community Council area could take part in our Landowner survey.

Drop-in Sessions

Six dates during February 2026

As part of the Strathdearn Local Place Plan 1st stage preparations, we held drop-in sessions at The Strathdearn for the community to view information on the Local Place Plan process and the Strathdearn area, ask questions, and make comments.

The drop-in dates and times were:

  • 10 February, 10.30am to 12.30pm
  • 12 February,11.30am to 1.30pm
  • 21 February,10.00am to midday
  • 22 February, 3.00pm to 5.00pm
  • 23 February, 12.45pm to 3.15pm
  • 25 February,1.30 to 3.30pm.

We published a Background Report to support our 1st stage preparations, particularly aimed at informing those unable to attend a drop-in session.

Pop-Up

Saturday 6 December 2025, from 11am to 3pm

As part of awareness-raising for the Strathdearn Local Place Plan, Helen Bailey was at the Winter Market at The Strathdearn to answer any questions the community might have about Local Place Plans.

There was a Local Place Plan display in the foyer, where the community could have an informal chat about the Strathdearn Local Place Plan and Local Place Plans in general.

The display included nearby registered Local Place Plans, so the Strathdearn community could see what other areas have been including in their Plans.

Drop-in Sessions

Tuesday 25 and Thursday 27 November 2025, from 10am to 2pm

As part of awareness-raising for the Strathdearn Local Place Plan, Helen Bailey was at The Strathdearn for two drop-in sessions to answer questions about Local Place Plans.

There was a Local Place Plan display in the foyer, where the community could have an informal chat about the Strathdearn Local Place Plan and about Local Place Plans in general.

The display included registered Local Place Plans, so that the Strathdearn community could see what other communities included in their Plans.
